As an honorary professor, Günter Krings is a member of the Intelligence Services Research Center at the University of Cologne. He regularly publishes on security and related public law issues in specialist legal publications and serves on the editorial board of the Zeitschrift für das Gesamte Sicherheitsrecht. As a member of the German Bundestag and deputy chairman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group (responsible for law and consumer protection, public security, displaced persons, ethnic German repatriates and German minorities as well as petitions), Günter Krings also contributes his knowledge and skills to practical legislative work. Previously, he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior, where his responsibilities included public security. Günter Krings is Chairman of the German Society for Legislation, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Forum Law Foundation and a member of the Board of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
